Konami Unveils eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit, a New Mobile Baseball Game

Konami has officially announced its collaboration with Major League Baseball (MLB) to develop a new mobile sports game, eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit. The game will feature fully licensed teams and players from the MLB, with the league playing a significant role in its promotion. The official game logo will be displayed on the MLB website, and extensive advertising is planned for future events, including the MLB Tokyo Series at Japan’s Tokyo Dome.

Designed to deliver a realistic baseball simulation, eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit is currently in development for iOS and Android. One of its standout features is the Star Watch system, allowing players to vote for a featured baseball player each month based on a specific theme. Players who receive the most votes will be included in the game and will receive special stat boosts based on their real-life performances.

Konami and MLB Leaders Comment on the Partnership

Hideki Hayakawa, President of Konami, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating:

"We are thrilled to announce this strategic partnership with MLB. For over 30 years, we have delivered baseball video games in Japan, and now we are excited to share this experience with a broader audience."

Meanwhile, Noah Garden, MLB’s Deputy Commissioner for Business and Media, highlighted Konami’s legacy in gaming:

Expected Release and Konami’s Sports Gaming Lineup

As of now, no official release date has been announced for eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit. However, given Konami and MLB’s plans to integrate the game with ongoing baseball seasons, a launch on iOS and Android is expected soon.

This new title joins Konami’s existing sports game lineup alongside eFootball, the company’s football (soccer) game. Since its 2021 launch, eFootball has received continuous updates, though its initial release faced heavy criticism, prompting an apology from Konami. The game is now available on consoles, PC, and mobile platforms.

With eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit, Konami aims to expand its presence in the mobile sports gaming market, bringing a fresh and immersive baseball experience to fans worldwide.
